About Us

Joint Free Slabs Pty Ltd (ABN 46 109 763 957) has the exclusve right to commercialise the joint free slab system throughout Australia. The two inventors of the joint free slabs methodology are consulting structural engineers with decades of experience in the design and construction of buildings.

This vast experience can be tapped for any project in which a joint free slab is being considered. Advice is freely given on the suitability of joint free slabs for the project, as are sketches showing the joint free slabs alternative. Differences are scheduled so that the developer, builder and/or quantity surveyor can appreciate the extent of the time and cost savings, and CAD drawings will also be prepared when necessary to avoid the need for the project consultants to re-work their design and documentation.

Alternatively sketches and a complete set of CAD files can be provided to the project consulting structural engineer so that the JFS design is incorporated into the tender documentation.

Warwick Colefax - BE(Hons), MIEAust, CPEng, RPEQ, RBP (Vic)

Warwick is the sole director of Colefax Consulting Engineers (CCE) Pty Ltd, a structural engineering consulting firm based in Sydney. He has been practising as a structural engineer since 1973, commencing his career as a design engineer with Hughes Trueman Ludlow and joining Rankine & Hill, a large, multi-disciplined, international firm of consulting engineers and project managers in April 1976. After a number of significant promotions in his time at Rankine & Hill, Warwick was appointed Principal in charge of the NSW Building Engineering Division in 1989. In 1991 Warwick left the firm to form his own practice and shortly after his departure Rankine & Hill merged with Connell Wagner.

Warwick's experience as a consulting engineer encompasses all types of building projects and includes a wide variety of small to large commercial, residential, retail, industrial and institutional projects. A significant number of the projects undertaken by CCE in recent times have been large, bulky goods warehouses, and the company is proud of its track record with repeat clients.

Warwick has worked with his brother to develop the joint free slab system, design the elements of the crack inducer grid and actively develop the business throughout Australia and overseas.
